EuroCloud UK is the UK Cloud Computing sector’s trade association and networking community. The UK component of the Pan-European EuroCloud movement which represents and is owned by the over 2,000 member organisations that cover every corner of the Cloud Computing value chain from infrastructure to applications and the ecosystem of channel, consultants and professionals which support it through 30 countries in which we maintain a presence.
EuroCloud UK is a membership organisation, we are owned by our UK members and our membership is open to all businesses in the Cloud supply chain with a UK presence. Our mission is to promote the adoption of Cloud, encourage best practice, further understanding of the benefits and transformational potential of Cloud, combat misinformation, uncertainty and other obstacles to an informed, sophisticated and mature marketplace and work with government, legislators and regulators to foster an informed, enlightened and benevolent environment for our members and our industry to deliver the benefits and prosperity that Cloud can bring.
Practically our mainstream activities are all about value for our members – doing things which make a difference and which make sense for us to do for our community. Regular meetings which focus on business, market intelligence, networking – these are high on everybody’s list. Providing opportunities for promotion, advancement and a channel to speak to the industry – and to listen to what others have to say.
Arising from this are our G-Cloud activities, a dedicated G-Cloud resource and Working Party. We support G-Cloud (the framework & marketplace for public procurement of Cloud services) It is a good concept, the right concept and a successful concept – we think it’s going to get better too and want to help through constructive engagement to represent the supply side of the equation, so we are involved in constructive discussion, we run an independent Industry Attitude Survey and are generating self-help materials, practical briefings and events and case-studies. For more on this go to our G-Cloud Section.
We are a UK organisation (EuroCloud UK) and part of the European organisation (EuroCloud Europe). We are uniquely well placed to work in, influence, analyse and observe the Cloud in Europe and the impact of Europe on the Cloud from a market, regulatory and practice perspective. We have, as a result of a membership consultation, launched the EuroCloud Observatory initiative. This has its own dedicated working party and resource and will soon be publishing its manifesto of aims and terms of reference and will have its own separate section on the website. The goal is to develop intelligence, information and resources for members and compile industry attitude data and opinions to represent on the working parties and other lobbying channels. If you are interested in participating contact the Secretary.
We run a series of events in London throughout the year and we are developing a presence in Manchester, courtesy of our hosts and sponsors Baker Tilly. Details are found on the Events Pages as are downloads from past presentations.
Sponsorship: Sponsorship or joint sponsorship of one of our events is a successful way to raise your company profile and support brand, image and message. Sponsored events work and there are opportunities to sponsor Awards and the European Congress in September/October each year. Contact the Secretary for details.
Speaking and contributing to our events: We plan our calendar roughly 3 months in advance to keep the discussions and themes current and the debate topical. Check-out the forward events in the diary and if there is a subject on which you would like to participate on the speaker panel – contact the Secretary. Should you want to sponsor an event around a theme we could design together – contact the Secretary!
The EuroCloud Awards are not only a showcase of the British Cloud – they also represent the period when we enjoy the company of new visitors interested in our activities and participants in our events. This attention we welcome with open arms. Growth in the membership grows our potential network, our influence in many areas and provides the stimulus to creating value for all.
The Board are pleased to offer New Members joining on or before 2nd July 2015 a 30% discount on the first year’s membership subscription (Standard and SMB annual payments only, not the subsidised Start-Up subscriptions). We are your EuroCloud. Stay in touch, engage, participate – our LinkedIn Group has taken over from our newsletter – it’s real-time and interactive, you can post, react, be wise (before and after the event). If you aren’t already there just request to enter and the Secretary who curates the site (to keep his profile trending} will let you in. Twitter is a very effective and unintrusive medium for updates and we regularly pick out relevant information for passing on (and we read of your news) so do follow us and we will reciprocate.

EuroCloud UK is part of the EuroCloud network of national communities, each established to encourage and promote the interests and benefits of cloud computing and software-as-a-service (SaaS) within their own countries and across Europe. EuroCloud exists to enable knowledge sharing, networking and alliances within the European industry, to act as its collective voice, and to raise visibility and make the case to European business for SaaS and cloud.
The cloud model stands for global reach, ecosystem partnerships and integration. Our goal in developing EuroCloud is to promote SaaS and cloud services and applications across Europe and encourage its take up. EuroCloud will be an accelerator of business, of technological relationships and application integration. It will represent the cloud industry in Europe -- taking into account local differences -- and be an excellent platform for exchanges with America or Asia,”
Pierre-José Billotte, Founder and Honorary President, EuroCloud Europe
